About us

At Sense of Still, we’re more than just a health clinic —we’re a community built on care, compassion, and connection

Our mission is simple: to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal. We believe that wellness is more than just physical health; it’s about finding balance in every aspect of life.

Founded in Woodend in the Macedon Ranges by people who are passionate about their community, we offer personalised, attentive care in Osteopathy, Myotherapy, Clinical Pilates and Remedial Massage. We take the time to listen, understand, and craft treatment plans that honour each client’s unique journey. Everything we do is grounded in our values of kindness, integrity, and excellence, reflected in both our approach to treatment and how we engage with each individual who walks through our doors.

Sense of Still is a place where you can press pause, breathe, and focus on what matters most—your wellbeing. Whether you are managing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to improve your health through healing movement, we’re here to help. We’re dedicated to helping people not only feel better but live better, with a focus on creating stillness within to restore energy and vitality.

Our team is united by a love for helping others and a deep commitment to continuous learning. We stay at the forefront of health and wellness practices to offer the best possible care. But more than that, we strive to create a genuine connection with every person who walks through our doors, so they feel seen, heard, and truly supported.

At Sense of Still, it’s all about finding balance—between movement and stillness, work and rest, body and mind. We’re here to help you navigate that journey, with compassion, expertise, and a whole lot of care.

F.A.Q

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first consultation, you will have an in-depth conversation with your practitioner around you, your injury and your past medical history. From there, we will perform a thorough physical assessment in order to understand your condition and how your body moves. This will also help your practitioner understand your body and develop a personalised treatment/management plan. From there, depending on the service you booked, we will perform either some manual therapy to improve your symptoms or prescribe exercises to reduce your pain and restrictions.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including lower back and neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, arthritic pain, pregnancy-related pain, postural issues and chronic pain. Our services are also beneficial for improving mobility, enhancing athletic performance and promoting overall wellbeing.

Do I need a referral?

No you don’t. As an allied health clinic, our practitioners are considered primary care practitioners, hence you can make an appointment directly without needing a referral.

Can I use private health insurance cover?

Yes you can. As long as your private health insurance covers the services you are using in your extras. This means a portion of your consultation fee will be rebated by your insurer. Note that HICAPS is available at the clinic, so you can claim on the spot.

What do I need to bring/wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being treated. During a treatment, you may be asked by your practitioner to remove some top layers to allow for a thorough physical assessment, please let your practitioner know if you are not comfortable doing this. Your comfort is our priority, so you may want to bring along a pair of shorts to change into, but we always have some spares available too.

It’s also helpful to bring any relevant medical information or imaging results with you.

What should I do after my treatment?

After your treatment, it’s important to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activities for the rest of the day. Your practitioner will also provide you with specific aftercare instructions or exercises to support your recovery.

What is Clinical Pilates and how does it differ from reformer Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a form of exercise therapy that focuses on improving strength, flexibility, posture and balance. It is often used in rehab settings to aid recovery from an injury or surgery and to manage chronic conditions.

Clinical Pilates is tailored to the individual’s needs and is often prescribed by a healthcare professional, such as an osteopath, myotherapist or physiotherapist, who has specific training in Clinical Pilates. The exercise programs focus on specific goals and are often part of a broader treatment plan for managing injuries, chronic conditions or movement dysfunctions. While Reformer Pilates classes are often more fitness-oriented and general in nature.
